We must vote for those candidates of any party that reflect these values: hard work, self-determination, smaller government, fiscal responsibility and honesty. Look to the character of anyone you chose to support. Their past does matter if they haven't learned from it. Their personal life is as relevant as their public one. We must be able to trust those who will be advising and leading us on what our country must do next. -Glenn Beck

Want to know what the plumber thought of Obama's answer?
Click here for an interview with Joe Wurzelbacher (AKA: Plumber in video from post below).
For those of you who don't know why Obama's tax plan is bad, Joe explains it in terms we can all understand.
To tell the truth, I hadn't heard anything about this until reading this blog. It was good to read the post-clip interview and get a more detailed version of the plumber's perspective.
However, it was also good to see the full, non-clipped, non-rewritten-for-Fox interview. Be sure to watch it here.
It seems that Fox jumped on the "spread the wealth" comment to make it seem that Obama supports full-out socialism. The assumption here is that socialism and capitalism cannot coexist, but they seem to do fine in countries like France, Canada, Japan, and many others. The US has "socialized" parts too like public schools, libraries, post offices, roads, (oh and I guess our banks now too).
Anyway, the full clip was impressive. Obama seems to know what he's talking about. He knows the ins and outs of his economic plan and how it will affect everyone (like how tax increases will go up to pre-Bush levels). He can deliver it in an easy-to-understand, friendly way. It's a reminder that we can't rally around fear-generating talking points such as "tax increases!" (AAAH!!!!) and neglect the bigger picture.
I am not a fan of his tax plan either because the idea of taxing bigger companies, or people(who can afford it) is not what we call the "American Dream" Those people who make hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars a year, didn't start out rich! They have worked their butts of to get where they are! So what Obama says basically (in my opinion) is that those of us in the US that don't want to work our butts off to get the money that we would like to make(like those that make millions) to not worry because he will take that hard earned money from the millionaires and just tax them enough so we "the middle class" pays less! Ummmmmmmm, yeah sounds so fair doesn't it! Sure it sounds great to the "middle class" and I am the middle class, but it's absolutely not okay to take others hard earned money! What if I voted for Obama and then a few years later my husband I get to the point where we actually end up making a lot of money? I would be sooo sorry if he got in!! So yeah I think he is preying on the middle class because there are a heck of a lot more of us, so that we vote for him because we want "less" taxes, but still it's unfair to those who actually worked hard to get to that point of making a lot of money! It also makes it hard for the big companies to create more jobs if they are taxed to death! Yeah they can afford it, but why would they employ more people if so much of their money is taxed! It doesn't make sense! Those big companies are what creates most of the jobs, so why would it be so great to tax the big guys so much! That's how the economy will go down! You can't tax the big guys just because they make huge amounts of money! Don't you think that it takes away their rights to be able to make and keep that hard earned money fair and square? I think so! I am sure our founding forefathers would throw a fit if they knew what "changes and reform" where going to happen with Obama!! So yes his tax plan is bad! I also wanted to point out that CK's point about some things in this country being "socialized" may be true, BUT those "socialized" things don't take more hard earned money away from the higher tax bracket people so that the "lower" classes can make it and not contribute to them! That is a heck of a lot more Socialized than this country would ever need or want!! If people want to get that much socialism then there are other countries to live in to get that "socialized" mix of government and policies. As for me and my family, I would like to keep our country the way it was intended to stay!
